Police in Catalonia have issued a warning about a spate of recent "fake kidnappings" during which parents receive phone calls telling them their children have been abducted, when no actual kidnapping has taken place.
A man has been sentenced to 25 years behind bars after he pretended to be a member of Basque separatist group ETA in threatening letters sent out to 100 Spanish businessmen.
