Extra-long national anthem baffles Spain’s footballers
The Spanish national team is preparing for the World Cup which starts this Thursday June 11th. During one of its recent warm-up matches played at the Cuauhtémoc Stadium in Puebla, Mexico against Peru, there was an awkward moment during the Spanish national anthem.
The extended version of the song played, which is over two minutes long, surprising the players who quickly reacted with bemused looks.
Over 400 digital nomads take advantage of Extremadura’s €10K offer
The Regional Government of Extremadura has confirmed that it has issued 410 grants to remote workers as part of its aid programme to attract digital nomads to less populated areas in the region.
Launched at the end of 2024 and renewed last year, this grant is aimed at highly qualified professionals working in technology sectors who have the option to work remotely.

A total of 600 people applied, but 190 either were rejected or didn't meet the requirements. It's important to be aware that non-EU foreigners must first apply for the digital nomad visa if they want to take advantage of this.
Andalusia’s PP leader meets with far right to form new government
Andalusia's acting president, Juanma Moreno, is to meet with the leader of the far-right Vox party in Andalusia, Manuel Gavira, as well as Montserrat Lluis who is the deputy general secretary of the party.
This comes after the regional elections held on May 17th in which Vox gained one seat, which could see it forming a coalition with the ruling PP party who won the largest share of the vote.

Vox leader Santiago Abascal insists that in these negotiations they will demand several guarantees which they want honoured, something he maintains did not happen after the 2019 pact when the two parties signed several measures to support Moreno.
Pope Leo meets Bad Bunny
Pope Leo XIV held a surprise meeting with Puerto Rican music star Bad Bunny at Real Madrid's Bernabeu stadium during his state visit to Spain, the Vatican said on Tuesday.
"Yes... I confirm it. He (Bad Bunny) was with his family and some other people", and Leo "greeted them briefly before leaving the stadium", Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni told reporters of the encounter on Monday.
Spanish media said the papal team and Bad Bunny's entourage were still deciding on the best moment to publish photos of their meeting.
