Trump's dump: this year's kitschest Christmas present?

Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are among the new ‘caganer’ figurines for Christmas 2016, forming part of the cheeky tradition that sees celebrities bare their bottoms and take a crap in the traditional Christmas nativity scene.
The 2016 caganers - crappers - have been unveiled and as usual include figures from the world of sports, entertainment and of course, politics, immortalized in clay as part of a centuries old tradition from northeastern Spain.

The caganers or 'crappers' are a popular nativity scene decoration in Catalonia, where a defecating figure perched behind Mary and Joseph is said to symbolize fertilization, as well as bringing luck and prosperity for the year ahead.
The traditional figure is that of a young peasant from Catalonia, sporting a red barretina cap and a pipe.
This year’s new crop of crappers include the most talked about politicans of the day, including Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton as well as a host of Spanish figures such as Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy and the new president of the Catalan parliament Carles Puigdemont.

Last year’s top sellers were Barrack Obama and Lionel Messi.

New figures included in the selection from caganers.com include Game of Thrones characters, John Snow, Daenerys and Tyrion.

And following the popularity of Pokemon Go, the smart phone game that has swept Spain, a figure of Pikachu – complete with matching yellow poo - also appears in the collection.

This year's caganer collection also pays tribute to some of the best-love personalities to have passed away since last Christmas including musician Prince and boxing hero Muhammad Ali.

For the first time a hipster is included in the caganer collection sporting trimmed beard, hipster quiff, bowtie and horn-rimmed spectacles.
