Watch: Drunk taxi driver risks death on Madrid motorway

The taxi driver was four times over the legal alcohol limit.

We've all had experiences with taxi drivers going too fast for our liking, but one Madrid driver might have gone just a bit too far this week.

The taxi driver was caught on camera careering the wrong way down a motorway in Madrid, narrowly missing several cars driving straight towards him.

The driver was filmed by workers from Madrid's municipal cleaning service, who can be seen shouting in the video "stop, stop!"

The taxi driver eventually crashed the car, colliding with another vehicle, which resulted in both drivers suffering "light injuries" according to Spanish daily, El Mundo.

The driver was swerving down the A-42 motorway in Madrid at around 11pm on Sunday, January 17th.

He was later detained by police and, when breathalyzed, found to be four times over the legal alcohol limit.
