A chilly water temperature of only 14ºC was not enough to deter the 284 people who swam 200 meters across the harbour between Port Vell and the Puerta de la Paz to compete for the 104th Christmas Cup.

The event has been held every year since 1907 and is still growing in popularity.

Ten-time winner and strong favourite Daniel Serra, 45, claimed the men's trophy while Aida Bertran, 17, beat the odds to lift the women's prize .
