UK climber found dead in northern Spain
The body of a British mountaineer who went missing a week ago in the Picos de Europa national park in northern Spain has been found trapped inside a nine-metre gorge.
24-year-old Barrie Cadd, from Devon in England, disappeared last week while on a trip supporting a party from a disability adventure trust.
The young man was last seen alive by friends when he set off to climb 2617-metre Peña Vieja Mountain on his own.
Cadd's team raised the alarm when he failed to rejoin them later in the day as planned.
An air and land search involving mountain rescue specialists and three helicopters was launched by Spanish police the next day.
But it wasn't until this Monday that Cadd was found, his body trapped among boulders.
Tony Todd, chief executive for the disability trust Cadd worked for as an activity instructor, told UK tabloid The Sun, "He will be greatly missed".
