The solstice is behind us and three months of gruelling heat lie ahead. But don't fret. In this week's The Local List we take a look at some of the best ways to deal with the ordeal that is the Spanish summer.


For the next three months, the two words you are most likely to hear on the streets of Spain are "Que calor!", or "It's so hot!"

From Tenerife to Teruel, people will be trying out all sorts of ways to escape the country's blistering temperatures.

They'll be fanning themselves, taking trips to the beach, visiting local pools and rolling down the shutters.
