WATCH: Firemen rescue five-year-old girl clinging to seventh floor window
A team of firefighters came to the rescue of a five-year-old girl who was clinging to the window sill of her seventh floor flat in Alicante after being left home alone.
The child had been left sleeping alone in the flat when her mother “popped out” to pick up her boyfriend from the gym.
For reasons unknown, the girl climbed out of the window after waking up alone in the flat.
She was spotted balancing on a narrow ledge by passersby in the square below, who immediately called emergency services.
Within minutes a fire engine arrived and a two firefighters were raised in a rescue basket and saved the child.

The mother of the girl was arrested and is facing charges for child negligence.
