The Málaga-born actor who cut his teeth with Pedro Almodóvar before conquering Hollywood celebrates his 56th birthday on August 10th with the launch of his new fashion label.

In August 2015 he announced he would be concentrating on a new project and enrolled on a fashion design course at London's Central Saint Martins.

Now, a year later he is launching his first menswear collection, which in his words capture "Passion. Spirit. Life."

His first menswear collection will be available through a collaboration with Selected Homme, the Scandinavian clothing company whose wares can be found everywhere from ASOS to Urban Outfitters.

His classic style includes casual jeans, tailored top coats, sharp suits, polo shirts and a very sexy leather motorcycle jacket.

Since first appearing on the big screen in 1982's Labyrinth of Passions, an early Pedro Almodóvar romp, Antonio Banderas has been nothing if not busy.

Almost 100 movies later, during which time he has presumably become the only actor to play Benito Mussolini and Che Guevara, he is still one of Spain's best loved actors and has been awarded the Goya of Honour by the Spanish Film Academy.

Banderas's two forays into direction so far have been Crazy in Alabama (1999) and El camino de los ingleses (2006), set and filmed in his native Malaga.
