Splash! Spanish waterpark crowned best in the world

Siam Park in Tenerife has topped TripAdvisor's Traveller's Choice Awards.
For the third year running, Siam Park in Tenerife has won TripAdvisor’s Traveller’s Choice award for the best water park in the world.
Opened in 2008, Siam Park is located on the Canary Island’s Adeje Coast and is themed around all things Thailand, including slides in the style of temples and a rainforest setting.
"An adrenaline-pumping, fun-filled day for all the family, from chilling on sun beds next to the beach to the Tower of Power (not for the fainthearted!" read one TripAdvisor review.
"One of the greatest places on earth!" read another.
The Tower of Power is a slide with a terrifying 28 metre plunge, where those brave enough to try it out can reach speeds of up to 80km/hour.
As if the slide itself wasn’t heart-stopping enough, it ends by passing through a huge aquarium full of sharks.
Siam Park also boasts the world’s biggest artificial wave, which can peak at between three and four metres high. It has been used for some incredible surfing displays, including one that took place at night in front of a full moon (see video below).

Tickets for Siam Park cost €34 for adults and €23 for children.
TripAdvisor's Traveller's Choice Awards are judged based on the number and quality of reviews.
At number two of the world's best water parks is Waterboom Bali in Kuta, Indonesia and third is Aquaventure Park in Dubai, UAE.
Three other Spanish waterparks also appear on the top ten in Europe: Aqualandia in Benidorm, Aquapark Flamingo in Torrevieja, Alicante and PortAventura Caribe Aquatic Park in Salou.
