As Barcelona enters its second day of metro strikes, commuters are facing delays and a minimum service during several hours on Tuesday.

A person, who has not been named, was run over by a metro train at around 5.30am on Tuesday morning, provoking delays of at least half an hour on lines 2, 13, 14, 15 and 16 of the Rodalies, Barcelona’s commuter rail system.

Meanwhile metro workers continue to strike on Tuesday, when a minimum service of 40 percent will be running between 7am and 9am and 4pm and 6pm.

Service will fall to just 20 percent between 8.30pm and 10.30pm.

The strike – over working conditions and the failure to agree on a new collective bargaining agreement – is expected to last until Thursday.
