Ana María Prieto had just arrived at her home outside the Spanish city of Oviedo with her children when the horror accident took place.
After parking out the front of the house, the 47-year-old realized the vehicle was rolling away.
But in her bid to stop the van, it jumped a wall and she was crushed under the chassis. Rescue workers were quick to arrive on the scene but could do nothing to help the mother of three.
Shocked neighbours took care of the children and the woman's husband who had been inside the house during the incident.
Prieto was a popular figure in the community of Las Caldas, local daily La Nueva España reported.
The paper had even interviewed the woman about her work as a leather worker in 2011. "I wouldn't change this for anything," she said of her life at the time.
