Pensioner found dead with head stuck in bin
A 68-year-old Spanish man was found dead on Tuesday evening with his head stuck in a paper recycling bin from which he had been trying to recover something.
His body was discovered by passersby in a quiet street in Palma, on the island of Majorca.
Because of the isolated nature of the area, he may have been there for over an hour.
It is understood that he went out to go shopping and then threw some newspapers into the blue plastic bin.
Locals speculated that he then became trapped while attempting to recover something he had thrown in by accident.
An autopsy to determine the exact cause of death is scheduled for today but it is believed that he most likely asphyxiated.
