The Spanish version of men's magazine GQ announced the winners of its 2013 "Men of the Year" awards as voted for by readers and members of its editorial team. Find out which icons they honoured this year.

Needless to say Education Minister Jose Ignacio Wert, the most unpopular Spaniard of 2013, did not quite make it on to the podium.

Neither did Prime Minister Rajoy for that matter, who has had another bad 12 months.

So which famous males have had a good year in Spain? From the world of gastronomy to sport and cinema, here are six icons who were lauded as Spain men of the year.
