A group of Spanish anarchists have owned up to mailing explosive dildos to high profile Catholic targets including the Archbishop of Pamplona and the headmaster of an elite religious school.

Two small anarchist cells have been linked to the explosive mail, Spanish news agency EFE reported on Friday.

Jointly known as ‘El Club de Artesanos del Café’ (the Coffee Craftsmen Group), the collective released a statement on March 1st  in which they owned up to the shipment of explosive dildos to Pamplona’s archbishop

Archbishop Francisco Pérez told EFE he called Spanish police after he received a “weird package” that contained some form of powder.

“We didn't give it any importance but we later found out it was a bomb”, Pérez told EFE.

The anarchist collective also owned up to sending another explosive sex toy to the headmaster of Legionnaires of Christ school.

In that instance, the dildo didn't reach its destination, exploding instead, and injuring a post office worker.

The group later apologized, saying: “Sorry for the inconvenience.”

The collective, which police say has no more than five members, also admitted they attacked a bank with a coffee pot full of gunpowder and screws, although they didn't specify where.

At the same time, police are investigating two other letter bomb incidents believed to have been carried out by the anarchist group.

The first involves an explosive package placed in Madrid’s Almudena Cathedral that didn't go off.

The second incident took place near the Spanish capital's Public Prosecutor's Office where a high pressure cooker was detonated by Spain’s bomb squad.
