Spain's stunning locations for Game of Thrones Season Six
Spain provides the setting for fictional kingdoms in Game of Thrones Season Six.
The hotly anticipated sixth season of the hit US TV show returns to our screens in April, and if the newly released trailer is anything to go by, fans are in store for an action-packed series.

What you may not know, however, is that much of the production was shot in Spain, making use of the country's host of medieval castles and old towns to substitute the fictional kingdoms of Game of Thrones.
Several of the series' top actors were spotted in the Catalan city of Girona back in September, while production has also been to several other areas of Spain.

It won't be long before specialist travel companies start offering tours of the Season Six locations following on the success of trips to Andalusian locations used in Season Five.
But if you are a fan of the hit show why not plan your own trip to discover the Spain that was transformed into the setting for George R R Martin epic.
