Man arrested over 2003 death of UK tourist
Spanish police have arrested a man they suspect of being involved in a hit-and-run incident in southern Spain in 2003 in which a British tourist died.
Police arrested the 45-year-old Romanian man at Malaga airport on November 29th, eleven years after the accident.
The arrest came after a lengthy investigation which began after a British tourist was run over while out jogging in the Andalusian town of Antequera in April 2003.
The 40-year-old was found on the side of the road with multiple injuries. He had been staying with his partner in a local hotel, Spanish daily Diario Sur reported.
The suspect in the case has been detained, although police are not yet sure if he was the driver of the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run incident.
Other passengers are thought to have been travelling in the vehicle.
